Affirming Godly Fathers

Affirming Godly Fathers

ontrary to what we see and hear today, dads hold a very special place in our society, a much higher place than they are given credit for in modern-day circles. For example, how many of you have ever watched a television show, or maybe a commercial, that actually makes dads look intelligent? Most shows cast them as the family buffoon, while most commercials depict them as being those who can't figure out how to take care of the kids, run a load of laundry, or take care of other household responsibilities without specific instructions from mom!

It seems as if our culture views dads as being expendable parts of the family unit and, as a result, many of them neglect to see the importance of their role inside and outside the home. But as far as God is concerned, Scripture teaches that dads need to be reinstated to the level of importance that He intended for them and the Psalmist’s writing bears this out!

This Father’s Day we took a collective look at “Affirming Godly Fathers” (Psalm 112:1-9) and honoring our dads as God instructs us in His Word!
